The Unvarnished Truth

Saptarshi Mukherjee, an MBA from KIIT School of Management and a Six Sigma Green Belt, is an entrepreneur, martial artist, coach, and mentor. A Karate black belt and a name in the AIBSKA–JSKA Hall of Fame, he has represented India and won medals at World Championships in Argentina and Manchester. After spending nearly 13 years away from Karate, Saptarshi returned to the sport with limited practice time and eventually traveled to Japan in 2025, where he earned his Black Belt from JSKA, marking 15 years in his Karate journey. His return was not easy, especially while managing personal and physical challenges, but it became a powerful example of determination and the belief that it is never too late to start again.

His most remarkable achievement came through his students. With very limited infrastructure, Saptarshi began training young athletes in a lobby and a park in Dehradun, turning those modest spaces into the foundation of a world-class journey. In November 2025, he took three of his students to the JSKA World Championships in Japan, a 34-nation World Championship, where they returned with an extraordinary 4 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal. Alongside his work in Karate, he founded Business Angels and Invictus Sportz to support opportunities for talented athletes, particularly those who lack resources. His journey is ultimately about more than medals; it is about proving that with commitment, resilience and the right mentor, even a small space can become the starting point for something extraordinary.
